The Service Provider (SP) Lock
The Service Provider (SP) Lock menu is used to lock the cell phone to the SP's SIM card.
Once the cell phone is locked to a specific operator, if one inserts a SIM card
from a different operator the phone will refuse to accept it.
The cell phone will however accept another SIM card from the same operator.

To activate/deactivate this lock one needs a special secret code that is
not available to the end user.

View phone network lock status.
SIM lock - Do not lock your phone if you don't know the unlock code.
This is a good check before you buy any phone, especially second hand ones.
If phone is SIM locked, you may not be able to switch to other GSM operators.

Here is how to activate the menu:
**
Lock to Network?
If pressing yes you have 5 attempts to enter NCK (code is provided by the SP).

** Lock to Network subset?
If pressing yes you have 5 attempts to enter NSCK.

WARNING
Your phone can be locked to a service provider FOREVER by doing this!
If an invalid code is entered all five times, the menu will exit and be deactivated!
Any further attempt to activate the NCK/NSCK lock Menu will result in the
response "Not allowed"!
The NCK/NSCK lock can however be recoverd through a direct clearing in the EEPROM.

Revealing Hidden Menus of Nokia 6110

There are two menus on the Nokia 6100 series which are not enabled by defualt, and only appear when some optional accessories are fitted, namely the hands free kit or the car kit.

Note: The following instructions require you to short out certain contacts on your phone. Again, I will not hold responsible for any damages that may happen.

As you look at the bottom of the Nokia 6100 series, on the right, you should see 7 gold connectors in a row. For the following instructions I am going to refer to these as pins 1 to 7 with pin 1 the leftmost pin of the seven and pin 7 the rightmost pin.

Enabling The Hands Free/Headset Menu

Short out pins 1 and 2. After a few seconds, the word 'Headset' should appear on the display. You should now find that you have menu 3-6 enabled.

Enabling The Car Kit Menu

Short out pins 2 and 3. After a few seconds, the word 'Car' should appear on the display. You should now find that you have menu 3-7 enabled.

Removing The Menus

The only way to remove the menus is to select the 'Restore Factory Settings' option from the settings menu of your phone. When asked, enter your security code (by default it is 12345). Doing this will get rid of the menus, but will also set your ringtone back to it's default value and remove the uploaded ringtone if you had one in memory. It doesn't affect the game high scores, phone numbers etc.
