Hello Mack, sorry for not writing you until now, but I did not make it to the bank until today (here in Sweden the banks close as early as 15.00, and I missed that time yesterday). However I talked to the bank this afternoon. They told me that I had to wait for (at least) 5 days until I will get any money. They also told me that if they find anything wrong with the cheque they have the right to get the money back within two years of time. In the light of this new information I feel like I'm taking quite a big risk here. After all I don't know you, so how can I be sure that everything is OK? I therefore would like to cancel the deal, and instead sell the camera to one of the others who showed interest in my equipment, and who will pay in cash. Hope you understand my situation and that it's ok by you. If you really want the camera we can still have a deal, but then I need cash payed directly to me. However, you ask me to tell you if there's anything else you can do to make me feel more safe. And yes, there is. When I get the money I would like to transfer them to an account instead of thru Western Union. This method, thru the bank, is just as quick, but a lot safer for both the sender and the receiver. So, I would appreciate it if you give me a bank account (with the name of the bank, location, phone number, account number, name of the account holder, Swift Bic, IBAN number and everything that's needed) where I can transfer the money to. As far as I know (from what the bank told me) all banks all over the world have these codes. I'm very surprised to hear that your bank told you that these codes are not used in UK. There must have been a mistake, but I can ask my bank if they can find out the swift code and IBAN number for the bank where you want me to send the money, "Nation Wide Bank". Has to wait until Monday, though, since they're not open until then. Also the codes are unique for each bank so I need to know in which city the bank is located, as well as the address. I understand that you found a solution to send the money to a colleague of your shipper instead. But you also want me to send all the money to your shipper instead of as how we said before. I talked to my sister who said that if I should do this, then it has to be without any "Question-secret password", since then anyone who knows the codeword can take out the money. It is safer for both parts if the money is taken out by someone who has to show identification (and it should be no problem for the shipper to show an identification). So if I'm going to send money it has to be either thru Western Union without "secret password" or thru a transfer to another bank. I hope this is OK by you. I think it's best if you arrange a different paying method for the camera equipment. I've missed my chance to sell the camera equipment to the other ones interested because of this.
